Office Overview
Concordis Freeman Group, founded by Willard Freeman and Richard Gersten, specializes
in commercial office leasing and consulting. The team represents both national
and D.C.-based companies, with a client list including Discovery Communications,
Northwestern Mutual Life, Americhoice, Empower America, and Chevron-Texaco.
Concordis Freeman provides commercial real estate sales, leasing, acquisition,
project management, development, and investment services.
The company's founders are both residents of the District of Columbia and have
facilitated in the investment, and leasing and representation to tenants for
properties throughout the metro area since 1980. With a philosophy of value-creation
and a focus on long-term client relationships, Concordis Freeman has served
its clients throughout all phases of lease program analysis, site search, market
data, lease proposal formulation, evaluation of alternatives, negotiation, execution,
and project management.
Concordis Freeman brings local real estate experience to the team in a city
that values local roots. The principals have professional affiliations with
various real estate organizations and in addition, they are involved in the
Washington community through various work and volunteer related activities such
as the board of directors for Metropolitan Police Boys and Girls Clubs, The
Family and Child Services of Washington, DC, The Sheridan School, and DC Stoddert
Soccer.
Willard Freeman has established trust with the city government and was recently
asked to analyze City office and warehouse leases made prior to the Williams
administration at various DC locations, and to make recommendations in the form
of a strategic plan for the City's future real estate needs. When ground was
being broken for the MCI Center the Redevelopment Land Agency (RLA) contacted
Willard to efficiently relocate city agencies, which were impeding the construction
schedule. The RLA members and corporation counsel at the time will attest to
the rapid response and professionalism Freeman brought to that process.
In the zoning and development context, Willard interfaced between community
groups and Discovery Communications to successfully facilitate approval for
the development of a 600,000 sq ft building on the Silver Spring/DC border.
Meeting with community groups and individual homeowners over a period of six
months, Willard listened to neighbors' concerns about traffic, scope and size
of the project, landscaping, deliveries, and other issues that would have impacted
their neighborhood. Churches, city council members and other groups applauded
the project changes Willard implemented in response to these neighborhood interest
groups.
Richard Gersten, a twenty-two year Washington resident, has a strong background
in commercial real estate client representation and development services. Richard
represents associations, corporations, consulting and law firms, and government
contractors throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The complexity
of relocation demands a high level of personalized service which Richard provides
through direct client interface.
Richard actively services all accounts that the Concordis Freeman maintains
as clients. A diverse portfolio of clients throughout Washington and Virginia
maintains their relationship with Concordis Freeman, and as they have grown
or reduced in size, the clients rely on the services of his firm. The "hands
on" approach has offered clients the continued reliability that the changing
real estate market requires.
As a full service real estate company, Concordis Freeman Group is unique in
its position to offer the benefit of personalized service and a vast network
of resources to satisfy all real estate requirements.
